The deadline for early registration has been extended to September 12 to allow attendees just learning about this exciting event to take advantage of low registration and exhibition fees.

Reno, Nevada (PRWEB) September 04, 2014

UAS MAPPING 2014 RENO - this 2-day UAS symposium will showcase UAS in operation including flights over the first UAS Mapping Calibration Test Course designed to be a permanent facility for the validation and accuracy assessment of UAS sensor payloads. General Sessions will focus on the mapping and remote sensing aspects of unmanned acquisitions with the goal to provide practical information on UAS flight planning, acquisition, data processing and map production. National and international speakers will address current-day and developing UAS applications. Academia and research institutions will inform on existing educational and training opportunities. Survey, mapping, and engineering firms will be on-hand to share their experience and further their UAS implementation strategies. Government agencies will share information on the development of national and international mapping programs. UAS firms will benefit from meeting the managers of the Nevada UAS program and obtaining first-hand information on utilization of the Nevada UAS Test Site.

The Attendees
Attendees will be drawn to this symposium to obtain insight into UAS technologies from the perspective of ASPRS scientists, researchers, and practitioners the people who have historically provided the scientific advancement of airborne and spaceborne imaging. In addition, the invited speakers and attendees reach far beyond the bounds of ASPRS to encompass the visionaries and innovators of today. The symposium organizers are targeting a broad spectrum of people at this first UAS MAPPING symposium, including:

  •     Agriculture / Precision Agriculture Users
  •     Wine Growers / Viticulturists
  •     Construction Engineers / Civil Engineers

The Firsts

  •     This is the first UAS MAPPING symposium focused on the application of UAS technologies to survey, mapping and remote sensing endeavors.
  •     This is the first developed test course at a FAA-designated test site.
  •     This is the first symposium with on-site processing and analysis of test course data.

Networking
The event is organized to provide ample time for networking between developers, practitioners, researchers, consultants, future users, and managers of programs that plan to utilize UAS technology. Attendees will also be able to interview the managers of the newly established test site to gain insight into plans for incorporation of commercial UAS operations into the national airspace.

Venue
