Jeremy Ehly and Nathan Gulash, AIA, both LEED Accredited Professionals, recently joined the Denver office of Boulder and Denver, Colorado-based architecture firm Arch11, announced Arch11 Principal E.J. Meade. Both new staff members have the kind of diverse backgrounds incorporating hands-on creativity that Arch11 looks for in its designers. Ehlys installation art and a BFA in performance art for Gulash add extra creative depth to their work, and both designers share a proven knowledge of sustainable architecture, as well as ongoing education and leadership experience in the field.
Jeremy Ehly has a Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and most recently worked as an intern architect on health care and student housing projects while at Davis Partnership Architects in Denver. Previously, he worked on a multi-model mixed use transportation center for Jeddah, Saudia Arabia while at RNL.
Ehlys current work at Arch11 includes the design of several large park pavilions for Stapleton in Denver, restaurant and office space at 909 Walnut in Boulder, and a high-end kitchen showroom for Roth Distributing in Kansas City. In addition to his work at Arch11, Ehly teaches design studios and 3D modeling and rendering courses at CU Boulders Program in Environmental Design. He is also an installation artist and photographer. Prior to receiving his architecture degree, he earned a bachelor of arts from Whitman College where he studied biochemistry.
We are pleased to have Jeremy join our staff, says Meade, His varied background, including hands-on educator, technical and graphic expertise and commitment to sustainable design make him a particularly good fit for our firm, where we value people who bring those diverse contexts to bear on their work with us.
Nathan Gulash, a licensed architect, received his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Arch11, Gulash worked at the Denver office of RNL, specializing in highly energy efficient and net zero energy facilities. Most notable of these buildings was the LEED Platinum Certified Research Support Facility at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the first Zero Energy Building (ZEB) of its kind in the United States. His current work at Arch11 includes feasibility and planning for a multifamily project in a transit oriented development, a new coastal Mexican restaurant concept in Denver, and custom single family residential projects.
Gulash is active in the leadership of the Colorado Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and will be serving as the AIA Denver Section president in 2015. He is passionate about intern architect education and licensure and runs the highly successful ARE ASAP program for AIA Colorado. Prior to receiving his architecture degree, the Michigan native earned a BFA in music performance from Michigan State University.
Nathan will be a strong addition to our Denver office, says Meade. His demonstrated leadership skills and sustainable design expertise will allow us to take our work to a new level.
