MADISON COUNTY, AL (WZDX) - The father of Discovery Middle School shooter Hammad Memon will go back to trial on a hindering prosecution charge later this year.
Iqbal Memon, 52, will have a second jury trial starting Sept. 8, according to court records.
Last Thursday, the judge in Memon's case declared a mistrial when jurors deadlocked.
Memon is accused of trying to help his son flee the country to Pakistan before his trial for the February 2010 shooting of Todd Brown, 14. Hammad Memon is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence.
Safia Memon, Hammad's mother, pleaded guilty to hindering prosecution and was sentenced to a year of probation.
