Burglary Suspect Shot by Homeowner Now Behind Bars
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WZDX) - A Huntsville man who police said was shot while breaking into a home over the weekend is now in jail.
Joseph Patrick Garrison, 26, was released from Huntsville Hospital Wednesday and arrested for first-degree robbery and second-degree burglary.
Police said Garrison was shot in the chest by an 83-year-old man April 4 as he was breaking into a home on Dairy Lane. Garrison fled the scene and was caught by Madison County deputies a short time later, police said.
Garrison is also charged with a robbery that occurred in the 1800 block of Chapman Avenue.
He's in the Madison County Metro Jail on bonds totaling $80,000.
