Parents Voice Concern Over Boys and Girls Club Closing
HUNTSVILLE, AL (WZDX) - The frustration over the closure of a local Boys and Girls Club continues and parents are speaking out.
A meeting was held Tuesday night at the Farley Boys and Girls Club. The club is set to close on May 23rd because of a lack of students and a lack of funds. Parents are now signing a petition hoping to be heard and hoping the club won't close.
"None of the decisions are in stone. Understand that we are dealing with a significant amount of children, in a vast geographic area, spanning severe academic needs and differences," said Boys and Girls Club President Gary Saliba.
The Boys and Girls Club says they've lost more than half-a-million dollars in funding in the past 14 months.
