HUNTSVILLE, AL (WZDX) - Firefighters said three dogs died Tuesday afternoon in a fire at a home off of Redstone Road in south Huntsville.

Firefighters responded to a home in the 2200 block of Cecille Drive just before noon Monday.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but firefighters found two dead dogs in the house and were unable to save a third dog in the home.

Firefighters said there was extensive smoke damage throughout the house, and they believe the fire began in the kitchen.

The cause hasn't been determined.
