ROGERSVILLE, AL (WZDX) - A Tennessee man was flown to Huntsville Hospital after his vehicle left the roadway and ran under a large propane tank at Clark Gas Company.
Rogersville Police Chief Terry Holden said the man's SUV ran off James Mackey Drive and through a chain link fence behind Clark Gas Company off Highway 72 around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Rescue crews were able to get the man out of his vehicle and he was flown to Huntsville Hospital with two broken legs and other possible injuries.
Holden said the tank did not have any leaks but crews were concerned the large propane tank was leaking after the accident because they could smell fuel.
"At first, we thought we did but the workers were here bleeding small tanks and that's where the odor came from."
Holden said the driver was conscious at the scene and is expected to recover.
Rogersville Police are investigating.
