Expect Delays, Closures with Three Athens Road Projects
ATHENS, Ala. (WZDX) - Some projects around Athens city streets will cause some traffic headaches this week.
A portion of Beaty Street south of Hobbs Street is scheduled to be closed through Friday because of a sewer replacement project in the downtown area.
City workers also will close Lindsay Lane from Nick Davis to Alabama 251 Tuesday for work on a drainage culvert. City officials expect the work to take just one day. Officials said drivers should be careful around the south end of Lindsay Lane, as crews work on culvert head walls there, but the road will be open.
And Wednesday, CSX will close Nuclear Plant Road from Stewart to Page roads from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for railroad work in that area.
