Some Athens High School students got to take a tour of the Limestone County Jail on Thursday. The tour was part of the Athens' Mayor's Youth Commission. Ninth-12th graders meet each month at different location to learn how city government operates and help students look at future career paths.
Mayor Ronnie Marks says, "It's just an opportunity to talk to them, have a little fun, feed them, get them out of school a little bit, and also educate them about government."
The Youth Commission is in its second year and has more than 60 members.
