A Huntsville family is homeless after a fire destroyed their house. It happened just after six o'clock at a home on Killarney Drive. Four people and three dogs all escaped the blaze safely. One victim tells us the sofa in the living room caught fire followed by the rest of the house.
The blaze was quickly contained by the Huntsville Fire Department and the homeowner, Teresa Priddy, tells us she's grateful nobody is hurt. "I feel wonderful to be living, my family didn't get hurt, my pets are not hurt and I thank God for it, I really do."
The family tells us they plan to stay with other relatives tonight until they can find long term housing. No word on an official cause.
