November 1st through December 23- The Marshall County Craft Club19th annual Christmas Show- Piper Station (formally Boaz Plaza Outlet Center) 214 McCleskey Street Boaz, AL 35957- Marshall County Craft Club is a non-profit organization made up of approximately 100 members across North Alabama a portion of each sale goes to help support local children's charities. November 21 – January 5- Ice Skating in the Park-  Big Spring Park- Monday – Thursday: 2 – 10p.m. Friday: 2 p.m. – 12 a.m. Saturday: 10 a.m. – 12 a.m. Sunday: 12 – 8 p.m.COST: $10 per person skating; $3 per person skate rental; 10 or more people $8per person

November 29- December 31- Tinsel Trail- Big Spring Park- TheDowntown 47 Tinsel Trail is a display of live Christmas trees in DowntownHuntsville during the holidays. More than 200 trees will decorate Big SpringPark for the holiday season, nestled next to the Museum of Art ice skating rink and lining the lake in the west park. Intended to promote community, each tree is sponsored by a local corporation, group, or family, and can be decorated by its sponsor or another organization designated by the sponsor. Last year's display brought more than 32,000 visitors to the park during the holidays. We expect even greater attendance at Tinsel Trail 2013. COST: FREE

November 29-December 23- Santa'sVillage- Constitution Village-Selected as Event of the Year by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism & Travel,this annual event delights children and adults of all ages! Amid a nightly snowfall, visitors can stroll through the magical village amid the twinkling lights and holiday finery. Stop by the Toy Shop and watch the "elves"put finishing touches on toys, visit with the reindeer in their stable,decorate a cookie in Mrs. Claus' kitchen, or make a craft in the children's activity area while local entertainers serenade you with sounds of the season. Of course, no visit would be complete without spending a few minutes with Santa to let him know how good you've been! COST: $5 per person (children under one year old, free)

Thanksgiving through December 31(see exceptions) Galaxy of Lights- Huntsville Botanical- 5:30-9 p.m. GardenGalaxy of Lights is a holiday light extravaganza featuring larger-than-life animated light displays. See Santa soaring over a delightful winter village.Nursery rhyme characters dance and frolic among traditional scenes of the season. And, best of all, experience the magic of the twinkling icicle forest.Galaxy of Lights is the perfect holiday treat for the young and young-at-heart.COST: Passenger Car - $20 per car (up to 10 people) Vans - $20 for 10 people and $3 for each additional person Tour buses - $20 for 10 people and $3 for each additional person (tour bus driver is free). We will accept your donations of toys, canned goods, paper products, dog/cat food and warm coats for our local charities; $1 off the price of admission with a donation.

Santa in the Park- Arab Historic Village Located on El vin Light Lane, NE- 6 – 9pm- Santa Claus and his elves will make a special visit to ArabHistoric Village. His toy shop will open Fridays and Saturdays for four weekends beginning November 29, 2013. Have your picture taken with Santa, make reindeer food, watch the work, enjoy cookies and juice in the Boyd House and listen to live music. COST: $5 per person. Children 2 and under are free.

A Downtown Christmas - Historic Downtown Decatur - A Downtown Christmas will be taking place the first three Saturdays in December in Historic Downtown Decatur every Saturday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. Carolers will be roaming the streets, local artists will be set up outside or in store fronts, there will be free hot chocolate available, and Santa or the Grinch will be out and about, too.

Movie Series: The Santa Clause- US Space and Rocket Center-11am – 1pm- If you need help getting into the holiday spirit, the U.S. Space and Rocket Center has the cure.  Join us for our Christmas Movie Series! COST: $5

Sanders Family Christmas - Burritt on the Mountain 7pm - 9pm - The Sanders Family is back in Sanders Family Christmas.  Conceived by Alan Bailey and penned by Connie Ray, this famous sequel of Smoke on the Mountain returns to the Old Country Church at Burritt on the Mountain on December 18th – 22nd . We'll return to Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, on Christmas Eve of 1941. Reverend Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders to the Baptist Church to sing and witness, thereby getting the congregation into the down-home holiday spirit before the boys, including one of the Sanders' own, ship off to World War II. The Congregation will hear more than two-dozen Christmas carols, many of them vintage hymns, and hilarious yuletide stories from the more or less devout Sanders family members.  The play is set in a church which makes the Old Country Church perfect as the venue. Cost: $20

Christmas Contra Dance - Faith Presbyterian Church on the corner of Whitesburg and Airport. There will be a Christmas Contra Dance in the gym of Faith Presbyterian Church at the corner of Airport and Whitesburg Drive. There will be live music by Turnip the Beet and calling by Jane Ewing, Melissa Kirby, and Erin Johnson. It is from 5:30 - 10:30pm. 19th Annual Christmas Craft Show - Piper Station Shopping Center, 215 S McCleskey Street - The Marshall County Craft Club presents the 19th Annual Christmas Craft Show at the Piper Station Shopping Center, 215 S McCleskey Street. The show hours are through Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1 – 5pm. It will be now through December 23rd.

Festival of Wreaths - Madison Public Library 1p-5pm - Wreaths decorated by local non-profit groups will be on display for the public. FREE.

Family Christmas Open Studio - My Spirited Art - 2pm-4pm - Looking for something fun and creative for your family to do together during the holiday break? You can each select from six Christmas themed paintings. Ages 5 and up are welcome. Doors open at 1:45pm and painting starts at 2:00pm. Planetarium Program: A Christmas Star - Planetarium at Monte Sano State Park - 7:30pm - 

The Von Braun Astronomical Society presents "A Christmas Star". This holiday planetarium show attempts to answer the questions, "What exactly was the object the wise men saw so many years ago?" Presenters will explore how ancient scientific records answer that question and more. Telescopes will be open following the program. This special holiday planetarium show begins at 7:30 p.m. in Monte Sano State Park on Saturday December 21 and 28. There is an admission charge.
