FAYETTEVILLE, TN (WZDX) - The jury reached a verdict Friday in the Zakkawanda Moss murder trial.
Moss was found guilty of killing six people, including a child and unborn baby. It took a Lincoln County jury an hour and a half to find Moss guilty of six counts of first degree murder. The bodies were found at different locations in Tennessee and Alabama back in October of last year.
"I'm just relieved and glad it's all over and justice was served," said Shanea Sales, a family member of the victims.
"We've done it exactly the way as we needed to do it and exactly as we had planned to do it. It's that type of teamwork with the folks in Alabama and Tennessee and a game plan to do it right that results in the verdict we got here today," said Lincoln County District Attorney Robert Carter.
Moss' sentencing hearing will be in January. Henry Burrell is also charged with the murders and will be tried next year.
