Thousands were celebrating Veterans Day on Monday in downtown Huntsville. This year's parade theme was "Honoring the Anniversary of the Vietnam War". Both young and old packed the streets, waving American flags to show patriotism
Morgan County held its Veterans Day celebration in Priceville. Over 30 participants marched down Bethel Road in the Second Annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade ended at the Morgan County Veterans Memorial Park where a ceremony was held to honor the county's veterans. One attendee said, "We want to honor these veterans because they did sacrifice for our freedom and we can't thank them enough." The events were organized by the Combined Patriotic Organizations of Morgan County.
And before the parades started, hundreds of veterans gathered for food and fellowship. The Association of the United States Army's ceremonial breakfast is offered to community veterans and their families. Both Gold Star families and Wounded Warriors were honored. Our community has over 30 wounded warriors that have served in the Army, Air Force and Marines.
