A fire at this home in North Huntsville is under investigation.
A house fire is North Huntsville under investigation.
It happened around 2p.m. on Sunday on Kennan Drive. When firefighters arrived, they found the homeowner outside the home and uninjured.
It took firefighters nearly an hour to get the fire out because they had difficulty getting into the home. Firefighters say they home is clearly a hoarder house. Scott Pettitt, District Chief, said, "The house was completely filled with items that had been stored from the bottom to the ceiling. There was no way to make entrance to the house without having to crawl over materials, so we had a difficult time finding the seed of the fire. We had the fire under control in about 45 minutes and now we are in overhaul operations, which involves moving most of this stored material out of the house to get to the base of the fire."
According to firefighters the homeowner was the only one living in the home.
