Coming up with a new name for what's being called North Huntsville High is ruffling some feathers.

When a new high school and junior high are built in HUntsville, the old Johnson High School will be no more. Now, officials are in the process of finding names and are seeking input from the public. Ed White Middle and Davis Hills will also be retired as part of the plan. The city will use the facilities at Johnson as a public safety center for fire and police departments. The new campus will be built on Pulaski Pike and will open in August 2016.

Two possible names being considered are former astronauts: Mai Jemison and Ronald Mcnair. Jemison is from Decatur and Mcnair was killed in the Challenger space shuttle accident.
