Lawrence County's largest business is set to close.
International Paper says closing its Courtland mill will affect 1,100 people. The plant will be shut down by March 2014.
The mill produces paper for labels, magazines, copiers and printers, but they say the demand for those is decreasing.
The company says this was a hard decision for them, and now employees now have the tough task of finding a new job.
Trey Terry, an International Paper employee, says, "...horrible, you know they hire all these people in then turn around and lay them off people been working there for thirty years, more than that, ya know they ain't got nowhere to go."
Officials say it will cost $625 million dollars to close their doors.
