(WZDX)- State Superintendent of Education, Dr. Tommy Bice, released the list of failing Alabama schools Tuesday morning.
Students enrolled in failing schools can qualify to transfer. Parents can also receive a tax credit to enroll their children in private schools or public schools, as long as the student maintains a passing grade.
Statewide, there are 78 failing schools.

Butler High School – Huntsville City
Chapman Middle School - Huntsville City
Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School – Huntsville City
Davis Hills Middle School – Huntsville City
Edward White Middle School – Huntsville City
JO Johnson High School – Huntsville City
Lakewood Elementary School – Huntsville City
James Dawson Elementary – Huntsville City
Westlawn Middle School- Huntsville City
