HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WZDX) - A .22 revolver was found in the security checkpoint at Huntsville International Airport on Tuesday.
A Transportation Security Administration Spokesman says the gun was discovered in a passenger's carry-on bag around 5:30 p.m.
It was the fourth gun found by TSA agents at the Huntsville airport this year.
According to TSA rules, anyone in possession of a loaded firearm found at a checkpoint or on an aircraft faces criminal charges and a fine ranging from $3,000 to $7,500.
The handgun was turned over to airport police. It's unclear whether the passenger was taken into custody.
