FLORENCE, Ala. (WZDX) - Police say a standoff with a robbery suspect ended Monday afternoon after the suspect surrendered without incident.
Police said Terry Hankins, 43, turned himself in around 4:30 p.m. -- about five and a half hours after the standoff began at a home on Nance Street.
Hankins was accused of strangling and robbing his stepfather Friday.
At one point during the standoff, police fired tear gas into the home in an attempt to get Hankins out.
Police say Hankins entered his girlfriend's house at the corner of Nance Street and College Terrace on Monday morning.
