BOSTON, Mass. (WZDX) - A runner from Huntsville crossed the finish line at the Boston Marathon just minutes before the explosions.

Just before 2:00PM Monday afternoon, a series of two explosions rocked the finish line area of the race.  Spectators covered in blood were seen being taken to a medical tent.

The first explosion occurred about three hours after the winner cross the finish line.  It was followed by another explosion just moments later.

Suzanne Taylor of the Huntsville Track Club was near the area where the bombs went off.  "…we heard it, and everybody went that was a bomb." she says.  "Everybody was just trying to get out of there. All I could see was the smoke because of all the people."

It was a scary scene for Taylor who ran the race with her husband.  Dink Taylor finished about an hour ahead of Suzanne.

"If I had been five minutes slower, it would have been me. I would have been right there when it happened," says Suzanne Taylor.
