Man Arrested for Cutting American Flags in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WZDX) - Police have arrested a man for cutting American flags from flagpoles around Huntsville.

Minh Van Pham, 44, was booked into the Madison County Jail Monday morning for third-degree criminal mischief.

Police said flags were vandalized at Burger King on University Drive, Holiday Inn Express on University Drive and the Academy for Academics and Arts on Poplar Avenue.

Pham was arrested at the Holiday Inn. According to police, Pham told them he was "protesting the war," but did not specify what war. Police said he has a history of destroying property while conducting his protests.
