HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WZDX) - Huntsville pulled away late in a tight race with Cleveland for a spot in the 2013 Social Media Tourism Symposium contest finals.
Huntsville's 7,400 votes topped Cleveland's 6,426.
Organizers are using a March Madness type bracket to determine who will host the contest.
Voting was open Thursday from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
With the win, Huntsville will face Missoula, Montana, in the finals of the competition set for April 2nd.
Last year's winner was El Paso and they received 7,000 tweets and 700 instagram photos that reached more than 10 million people.
The event is scheduled for November 6th through 8th.
