HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WZDX) - Huntsville police have released the name of the driver who was driving the wrong way on I-565 this morning and died in a head-on collision with a Huntsville police officer.
Police say 29-year-old Tabitha Rhodes of Madison died.
The collision happened near County Line Road in Limestone County.
The interstate was shut down for several hours after the accident, but has since been reopened.
Lt. Corey Harris was trapped in his vehicle after Rhodes was driving on the wrong side of the road and crashed into him head-on.
Harris was been treated and released from Huntsville Hospital.
