Decatur Man Accused of Damaging 28 Vehicles at Car Dealership

DECATUR, Ala. - Police charged a man Monday with damaging dozens of vehicles at a Decatur car dealership.

Sweet Pear Peterson, 36, is charged with criminal mischief.

According to reports, approximately 28 new trucks were vandalized Sunday afternoon at Lynn Layton Chevrolet on 6th Avenue. The next day a dealership employee called police and said the suspect was back at the business.

Police responded to the dealership and arrested Peterson after a short foot chase. He is charged with first degree criminal mischief. Bond was set at $2,500.
