There was a big crowd full of activists in Huntsville's Big Spring Park Sunday afternoon. These women are fighting proposed laws they say violate their rights.
They rallied in Huntsville today to fight bills in the state legislature they say have a negative impact on women and their families. The "Stop the War on Women" rally at Big Spring Park brought hundreds out to hear music, entertainment, and speakers. And some women shared personal stories and insights on women's rights. The rally focused on several key pieces of legislation, including House Bill 57, which would put tough regulation and restrictions on abortion providers and facilities, and House Bill 108, which allows employers to exclude contraceptives from health insurance. Many of the women at the rally plan to travel to Montgomery on April 2nd to protest HB57.
