Part two of a series of promos we are airing on FOX54 features the place where I spent many nights camping on family vacation.
Guntersville State Park holds a lot of memories for me and my family.
It was a tough pill to swallow when the tornadoes came through in 2010 and wiped out all the trees in the campground. A couple of days after the storms, I went out to the state park to do a story on how the area was affected.
Going back recently it is encouraging to see all the work that has been done to repair that damage. I was also informed over 450 trees have been replanted. So, there is great work going on and the park(the view from the lodge in particular) is still beautiful.
In that promo I mention how covering that story and being in Guntersville brings back great memories for me. That is what I hope we can provide for you on the news outside of breaking news. Some of our feature stories are designed to highlight events and places in the Tennessee Valley that may mean something for you.
Join us every night at nine on FOX54 for your first look at the headlines in the Valley and get a full dose of local with a guy that has deep roots in our area. This is home for me.
