HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The State of Alabama has filed a response brief to convicted UAHuntsville shooter Amy Bishop's request for appeal.
Bishop's attorneys filed an appeal in mid-February claiming Bishop did not receive due process rights because of errors by the trial court. Bishop pleaded guilty to the shooting deaths of three colleagues at UAHuntsville in February 2010 and is serving a life sentence at the Tutwiler Woman's Prison.
In the response brief filed today, state prosecutors dispute Bishop's claims that court procedures were not followed and she involuntarily pleaded guilty because certain court procedures were not followed.
