FLORENCE, Ala. - Police have released the names of the men arrested and charged with raping a UNA student over the weekend.
As we reported last night on the FOX54 nine o'clock news, the two men were arrested Sunday after police responded to the hospital where the female student reported the incident.
D'Anthony Juqua Byrd and Deandre Alexander Harrison were both booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $50,000 bonds. Jail officials said Byrd has posted bond.
UNA police responded to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital Sunday after receiving word a UNA student had been raped in her Rivers Hall dorm room overnight.
Police Chief Bob Pastula said the victim knew her attackers. Police are still looking for a third suspect in the case.
Harrison is a freshman and a defensive lineman for the UNA football team. Byrd is not a student at the school.
