Former Lincoln County executives are in hot water, accused of misuse of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A state investigation shows the money came from utility customers. Investigators with the Tennessee Comptrollers Office say that money was being used for movie tickets, unauthorized bonuses and hotel rooms.
We're told on employee was even paid to spy on another employee suspected of having an affair.
Utilities customer Paul Williamson says, "I expect it to be paid accordingly to what it's reserved for. It shouldn't be put in somebody else's hands to do whatever they want to do with it."
The state investigation shows unapproved expenses dating back to 2008. According to the report, Billy Wiley dolled out nearly $300,000 in bonuses, including incentives just for showing up.
