Man Dies After Falling in Huntsville Creek - FOX 54 WZDX – Huntsville News, Weather and Sports

A man has died after falling into Spring Branch Creek in Huntsville.

Police identify the man as Darron Gene Putnam, 49, of Huntsville.

Witnesses say he tripped over a fire hydrant when he fell, then hit his head at the bottom of the creek.

Investigators say Putnam was alive when rescuers arrived.

He later died at Huntsville Hospital.
