Wednesday was 12/12/12 and people all over Madison County celebrated by getting hitched. The Madison County Courthouse had a steady stream of couples coming through the doors all with one goal-- tie the knot on this special day.
"We were going to get married on Friday and we realized it was 12/12 today and we had all the documents ready so--let's just get off work a little bit early and do it today," said Julia Ford. She and her fianceé Mike Hansen said "I Do" on this day hoping for a little luck.
"In this day and age you need all the help you can get," laughed Ford.
The duo was not alone. The Probate Judge's Office issued 30 marriage licenses and performed 27 marriage ceremonies on Wednesday. They say that's far more than a normal day.
Wednesday, 12/12/12 is the last sequential date until January 1, 2101 almost 100 years in the future.
