More than 20 people, including a North Courtland councilman, are facing drug charges after an undercover operation.
Councilman Terry Robinson is charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance. Robinson, who lives near R.A. Hubbard High School, is accused of selling prescription pills to an undercover drug agent.
The arrests started before the sun rose Thursday morning and involved officers from departments all over the county, according to Lawrence County Sheriff Gene Mitchell.
Mitchell said the six-month operation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
Robinson says he was never arrested. When asked if he has sold drugs he told our reporter no.
The Lawrence County Sheriff's office says they are hoping to get prescription drugs off the streets before they land in the hands of the youth.
