An arrest was made Wednesday night in the murder of 23-year-old Kayla Qualls, who was found dead in her vehicle Monday morning in Franklin County, Tenn.
Michael L. Curtis, 48, was arrested in his home around 7:00 p.m. Curtis is the grandfather of Qualls' children and the father of Qualls' boyfriend.
Police believe Curtis did not act alone. Qualls' boyfriend is being held in custody as a person of interest. Both of the men have a strong criminal record.
Qualls was found in a wooded area off Spring Creek Rd. with blunt force trauma to the head and her body stuffed in the back of her maroon Ford Explorer.
Investigators of the crime say they believe the murder happened in Curtis' home in Tullahoma, Tenn. where he then took her body and vehicle, and dumped them in the woods.
Curtis' bond is set at $1 million dollars.
