A fight in Decatur ended with a business owner in the hospital.
Decatur police say Scott Dutton, 30, was flown to Huntsville Hospital after being stabbed several times in the side of the head. He is listed in fair condition.
Police say Dutton was stabbed during a fight with another man around 1 a.m. in a parking lot located next to The Brick Deli and Tavern. Dutton's business, Downtown Dawgs, is located across the street.
Police say an employee of The Brick called 911 and said Dutton was standing across the street holding a gun. By the time officers arrived, Dutton had been stabbed and was lying on the ground in the parking lot.
After interviewing witnesses police say they determined Dutton accosted the man and a woman inside of The Brick and then left. When the man left, they said Dutton pulled a gun in the parking lot and started taunting the man.
Police say Dutton blocked the man's vehicle from leaving the parking lot with his own vehicle. The two got into a fight, and police say when Dutton tried to pull out a second gun the man stabbed him several times with a pocketknife.
Police say they recovered two handguns that belonged to Dutton as well as the knife he was stabbed with.
The other man was taken to the Decatur Morgan Hospital for minor injuries.
No arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation.
