A robbery turned police chase ends with one person in jail late Monday night in Colbert County.
36-year-old John Myatt was arrested and accused of robbing a business in Sheffield, then fleeing when police showed up. We're told Myatt sped off in his car, causing something of a high speed chase. This forced Sheffield Police to call on the help of Leighton Police.
Colbert County Sheriff Ronnie May says Myatt rammed two patrol cars twice on different occasions and several shots were fired. Officials put up spike strips on the roads, where Myatt hit them and crashed his vehicle into a ditch on the west side of County Line Road.
Sheriff May says no injuries were reported for Myatt or the officers.
Myatt was being taken into custody. He is from Killen, AL.
