Tyler CampbellTyler Campbell got out of surgery Wednesday night after crawling out of a ravine with a broken leg and collar bone the day before just to stay alive.
The Lincoln County teen was reported missing this past weekend after crashing his truck into a ravine off I-65 near the Alabama-Tennessee line.
His cell phone was not getting any service, so he had to somehow find help.
That help came in the form of some travelers who spotted him on the side of the interstate after he climbed to safety up the side of a 30 foot embankment.
Campbell immediately called his family.
Tyler's father Lee Campbell says, "There is not words to describe the feeling. My knees got weak and I literally just about fell backwards. Tyler's exact words to me were, 'hey daddy' just like any other day."
Lee Campbell says Tyler is recovering well and should be able to go home sometime tomorrow.
