1. Sandy is being felt in the Rocket City. Flights to Washington D.C. from the Huntsville International Airport are being canceled.

2. Part of the Atlantic City Boardwalk was washed away as a result of Hurricane Sandy. The Manhattan subway system was also threatened with corrosive sea water.

3. The American Red Cross sent five emergency response vehicles and 16 volunteers from Alabama to assist with response efforts. Hundreds of people have already sought shelter at Red Cross shelters along the East Coast.

4. Sandy's High winds collapsed a crane in New York City. The swinging crane caused evacuations to nearby buildings in Midtown Manhattan.

5. Investigators have not made any arrests in the killing spree along the Alabama-Tennessee line. It's been seven days since authorities in Lincoln County, TN and Madison County began working on the case.

6. There are two people facing charges after a fatal shooting in Madison County. Corey Murray was shot at the intersection of Beaconrest Cir. and Amberwood Dr. around seven last night.

7. Thousands of Giants fans turned their World Series celebration into violence. Revelers set a bus on fire and flipped over a vehicle while breaking windows of several businesses and vehicles.

8. A Texas man slammed his car into a church building then killed a preacher. Officers say they found the man beating the preacher with an unknown object.

9. UPS will fly more than 400 additional flights per day to keep up with an estimated 527 million packages dropped off this holiday season. That would be a new record.
