An Alabama group is fighting an amendment on your upcoming ballot that would eliminate racist language from the Alabama State Constitution.
The Alabama Education Association held a press conference in Montgomery on Thursday to urge citizens to vote NO on Amendment 4. The AEA is fighting the amendment because it includes a portion of language that says there is no right to a public education in Alabama. The AEA says that if the amendment passes, it could lead to a loss in education funding. However, one local teacher says that despite the risk, it's time to have those racist terms removed.
