Two adults and a child were found dead Monday morning at a home near the Alabama-Tennessee state line, and Madison County authorities say there is a second scene with a fourth victim.
The bodies were found in a home on Highway 231, just north of the Alabama state line in Lincoln County, around 10:30 a.m. when deputies arrived at the home for a welfare check.
Authorities said a 3-year-old in the home was able to call someone on a cell phone and said he could not wake his mother up. That person called another friend of the family, Constance Winston, who says she went to the home and talked the child through opening the garage door. Winston said she saw blood in the home, left and called 911.
The identities of the victims have not officially been released, but family members at the scene identified two of them as 1-year-old Rashad Ragland, and his mother, Chabreya Campbell.
Madison County authorities say there was a second crime scene with one more person confirmed dead, but did not give an identity of the victim there.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, Madison County Sheriff's Office and TBI are all working on the case.
