Hundreds of families got to welcome home their soldiers Sunday at Huntsville International Airport.
And what a homecoming it was for 130 members of the Alabama National Guard 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion. It's been one whole year since families have seen their loved ones.
Brittany Cisco says it was a dream come true to see her husband safe and sound. "There's seriously no words to describe it. I know my stomach jumped into my throat. When I saw him, he just happened to be right in front of me and I don't think we could have gotten any luckier then that." Cisco said.
The National Guard soldiers have been based in the Kandahar Airfield since November 2011. Their job was to provide communication support in Afghanistan.
