A long-term investigation resulted in a large seizure of methamphetamine.
The Dekalb County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a mobile home near Collinsville, Alabama which appeared to be a "stash-house" for re-packaging methamphetamine.
33 pounds of crystallized methamphetamine was seized from the uninhabited residence. Commander Darrell Collins says the street value for this amount of meth, in its form, is $1.5 million.
The investigation was also conducted by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office, Marshall County Drug Enforcement Unit, Albertville Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. These agencies helped with the execution of the search warrant, recovery of evidence and perimeter security.
No arrests have been made in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
