The prime suspect in the disappearance of his ex-wife appeared in a Madison County courtroom Monday.

Jury selection is underway in Daniel Proctor's theft trial.

Proctor is accused of stealing a gun and a car in Madison County last year.

He is also the prime suspect in the disappearance of Amy Patterson.

The 41-year-old Huntsville native was reported missing after failing to show up for her teaching job in Florida last August.

Proctor has not been charged in that case.
