HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) - A soft drink bottler in Huntsville is ending production after 110 years.
Big Springs Inc. says it will discontinue drink production at its plant in downtown Huntsville by late summer.
Coca-Cola and other beverages now produced at the factory will be purchased from other regional producers for distribution in north Alabama.
Company officials say 87 employees will be affected by the decision, but they're not giving details. President Rusty Isom says the company will help employees during the transition.
Big Springs has produced soft drinks since 1902. The company will continue to warehouse and distribute Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper and other drinks.
