There's a shocking new twist in the case of a fire that destroyed a downtown Boaz jewelry store last month.
According to Boaz Police, the owner of the store is reporting more than $100,000 worth of merchandise is missing after the fire.
Police say the owner reported as missing : $40,000worth of diamonds; $50,000worth of gold chains and rings; and $25,000 in $20 dollar gold coins stolen from the business.
The owner says he believes the theft occurred sometime between June 25th and the fire on June 27th.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious at the Boaz Jewelry and Gifts Store at 126 North Main St. between those dates is asked to call Boaz Police.
