Hazel Green Brush Fire Sparked by Fireworks

For two hours, firefighters from multiple agencies battled a brush fire in Madison County sparked by kids playing with fireworks.

The fire broke out around 1PM near Northington Road West of Highway 431.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department was considering an evacuation just before the fire was contained around 3. The flames were threatening nearby homes and roads.

The Madison County Fire Marshal says it was a group of kids playing with fireworks that started the fire.
