
Repairs are finally underway on the Saturn V Rocket at the US Space and Rocket center. The rocket inside the Davidson Center was damaged when it was hit by a bullet during a drive by shooting in May. The damage was minimal.
On Monday, a repairman will work to smooth, buff and paint the damaged rocket until it looks as good as new. The company doing the repairs is Conservation Services, Inc. out of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The repairs are expected to be finished by noon on Tuesday, June 19.
All period and application appropriate paints and materials will be used in the restoration. The estimated cost is $7,000.
