Chase Gallimore, Co-anchor
Chase Gallimore grew up in Huntsville, AL. He is a huge sports fan, and played semi-pro football in his recent home of Victoria, TX. He graduated from Auburn University, where he was on TV during Auburn Athletic events. His first national TV appearance was on The Price is Right, where he made it to the Showcase Showdown and won!
He most recent television post was in Victoria, TX, and he is thrilled to be back in the Tennessee Valley with his family and friends. He is currently working on his Master's of Divinity at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.
Rebecca Shlien, Reporter
Rebecca Shlien joined FOX 54's Nine O'Clock News in April 2010. Before moving to Huntsville, she spent over a year working at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rebecca attended Duke University, where she studied Psychology, Political Science and Journalism. She graduated Cum Laude and was actively involved in her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys photography, running, snow and water skiing, dining out, and traveling to visit friends.
Rebecca is excited to be living and working in the Tennessee Valley.
Lillian Askins, Reporter
Lillian Askins is from Birmingham, AL and loves the beauty and hospitality of the Tennessee Valley. She graduated from The Meek School of Journalism and New Media at The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 2011 with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in photography.
Her most memorable journalism experience was taking a class from fellow Ole Miss graduate Shepard Smith. When she was in New York, he helped her get a pass to Ground Zero to interview some of the construction workers. She says, "It was so inspiring hearing how they felt ‘rebuilding America!'"
When she's not on the air, she enjoys hanging out with her fiancé Chris and Winnie, their "Beagadore".
Spencer Denton, Weather
Spencer Denton is from Glasgow, KY. He's a graduate of Mississippi State University, MS in broadcast meteorology, and Trevecca Nazarene University (Nashville, TN), BA in Communication. His most memorable story was The Enterprise tornado, and talking with the students and teachers about their experiences. He's also a sports fan-"Kentucky Basketball because basketball is my favorite sport and I was born in the Bluegrass state. Tennessee Football because I spent my childhood in Knoxville. I went to a UT-Alabama night game at Neyland stadium and became a Vol for life...and yes, it is possible to like both."
When he's not giving the Tennessee Valley their weather forecast, he enjoys basketball, tennis, working out, and community involvement.
Ronnie Duncan, Sports
Ronnie Duncan is from Baltimore, MD and graduated from Morgan State University. His first sportscasting job was with WJZ in Baltimore, MD where he worked with Oprah Winfrey in 1983. His first TV appearance was on Romper Room with Miss Sally.
He says his most memorable interview was with former Heavyweight Champion Mike Tyson after his infamous ear-biting episode with Evander Holyfield. He likes working in the Tennessee Valley because the people are genuine and special, and the degree of diversity among the various cultures of old Alabama and new Alabama inspires the true American Dream.
Kyle Burger, Sports
Kyle Burger hails from Conyers, GA. He is a graduate of Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, GA. When not reporting on sports, he enjoys playing and watching sports, working out, going to the movies, listening to music, and spending time with his wife Kenya. He is an Atlanta team fan through and through...Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and Thrashers. His first television appearance was in high school, when he was the news anchor for their morning announcements.
